The Village Hall Committee has delegated powers from the Village Hall Charity Trust and is responsible for all the day to day organisation and administration of the Village Hall.

The Village Hall has a General Committee made up of some Parish Councillors (as Trustees), individuals responsible for certain VH functions and representatives of user groups. In addition an Operational sub-Committee made up of the individuals responsible for VH functions may meet more frequently and at short notice to deal with day-to-day VH issues. Both the Committee and the sub Committee have minuted meetings which are made public elsewhere on this website.

In addition, there are five user group members who represent the interests of villagers including: Drama Club, Parochial Church Council, Short Mat Bowls Club, Gardening Club and Local History Group.

Role of the committee

The Village Hall Committee has delegated powers from the Village Hall Charitable Trust and is responsible for all the day to day organisation and administration of the Village Hall. The Committee’s key areas of responsibility include:

  • Administration – Day to day organisation and administration of the Hall and its Coffee Shop. Display of all statutory policies, licences, documentation and inspections relating to use of the property.
  • Finances – Hall finances and accounting matters, including management of facilities bookings, invoicing and collection of hire charges.
  • Health and Safety – Effective provision for all staff, volunteers, hirers and visitors. Physical security and safety of the Property including its contents.
  • Maintenance – Day to day maintenance and repair of the property.
  • Marketing – Marketing and use of the property as mandated by the Trust Deed.

Village Hall Committee Meetings

Village Hall Committee Meetings take place as and when required. They are separate and distinct from meetings of the Village Hall Charitable Trust.
