Parish Councils and Local Government
Local public services in Tintinhull are currently delivered by three levels of council. Closest to the community is the Parish Council which has defined responsibilities within the boundaries of the parish. Above this sits what is often called Local Government.
Somerset’s previous five district councils have now been be replaced by a single council delivering all council services to communities in the county. To find out the latest information visit Somerset Council Website,
These councils individually raise a precept on council-taxpayers to provide funds for the services they deliver. Adding together these precepts, plus precepts by Avon and Somerset Police and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, gives the total of the council tax residents pay each year.
